General Rules and regulations

5 Minute rule - We have a 5 minute rule, this means we expect you to be in the store 5 minutes before your shift starts. This ensures you have time to store your belongings in the staff room, read the diary and start your shift on time.

Mobile Phones - Mobile phones should be placed on silent at the start of your shift and should be kept in the staff room at all times. Phones shouldn't be used during your shift however please feel free to give out the stores number to your family in case of an emergency.

Breaks - You will be entitled to a 20 minute paid break if you work 6 hours or more. For shifts under 6 hours there is no break entitlement, this includes smoking and vaping breaks.

Parking - There is ample parking at the rear of the store. We have two residential flats above the store which have reserved parking spots, these will be pointed out to you on your first day. Please don't park in front of the store as this is reserved for customers.

Uniform - We will provide you with branded polo tops and a jacket. We require you to wear black jeans or trousers with fully black shoes or trainers. Shoes/ trainers should be sturdy and have rubber soles. Leggings, jogging bottoms or ripped jeans are not permitted.

Sickness - In the event you are unable to attend work, you should call the member of management that is on call at least 3 hours before your start time. If you are unable to make contact then you should call the stores landline. Please note that we don't accept texts and you should always call.

Annual Leave - Holidays should be booked off via the smartplan app. Only once your holiday request has been approved can you then book your actual holiday. Any holidays booked without management's permission can lead to a disciplinary or dismissal so please ensure you follow the correct procedure.
