Restocking the Store 

General Rules (All Sections)

  • Each section must be restocked at least once per shift

  • Most sections will need restocking multiple times per shift

  • Always use headsets to communicate

  • Restock one section at a time

  • Complete each section fully before moving on

  • Rotate stock when putting items out (first in, first out)

  • Make sure the correct number of facings are on the shelf

  • Products should be label to label

  • The label is always on the left side of the product

  • Always use baskets provided for stock 
  • Use shopping trolley for small pop

Small Pop

  • Exception process

  • Shop floor staff member:

    • Checks shelves

    • Reads out what stock is needed

  • Storeroom staff member:

    • Collects the requested stock


Big Pop

  • Standard restocking process

  • Storeroom staff member:

    • Reads out what stock is available

  • Shop floor staff member:

    • Confirms how many of each item are needed


Beer

  • Standard restocking process

  • Check:

    • Singles and multipacks

    • Best before dates

  • Communicate quantities clearly via headset


Wines & Spirits

  • Standard restocking process

  • Handle stock carefully

  • Ensure bottles are placed correctly and securely


Tea & Coffee

  • Standard restocking process

  • Check:

    • Brand facings

    • Shelf spacing and alignment


Biscuits

  • Standard restocking process

  • Watch for:

    • Broken packaging

    • Correct product placement


Tins

  • Standard restocking process

  • Ensure:

    • Labels face forward

    • Heavier items are placed securely


Household

  • Standard restocking process

  • Includes:

    • Cleaning products

    • Paper goods

  • Check for leaks or damaged packaging


Bread & Cakes

  • Standard restocking process

  • Check:

    • Use-by dates

    • Product freshness

  • Rotate stock where required


Cereal

  • Standard restocking process

  • Ensure:

    • Correct shelf location

    • Front-facing products


Toilet Roll

  • Standard restocking process

  • Keep shelves:

    • Neat

    • Fully faced

  • Larger packs may need frequent checks
